Privacy Policy
Effective July 19, 2026
Passport Photo Maker helps you position, prepare, and save passport and document photos. This policy explains how the app handles your information.
Photos you select or take
Photos you select from your library or take with the camera are loaded into the app so you can position, crop, and export them. Face positioning is performed within the app after its face-detection resources have loaded.
Optional background removal
Background removal is optional. The editor identifies the current processing service next to the Remove background button. Tapping that button sends the selected photo to the displayed service over an encrypted HTTPS connection for processing; there is no separate confirmation dialog. The processed image is then returned to the app. Do not tap Remove background if you do not want the photo transmitted to the displayed service.
Device permissions
The app requests access only when needed:
- Camera access lets you take a new photo.
- Photo Library access lets you choose an existing photo.
- Add Photos access lets you save a finished image to your library.
You can change these permissions in iOS or Android Settings.
Information stored on your device
The app may store preferences such as your selected document type and background-removal engine. If you make adjustments, it also keeps one unfinished photo draft in the app's private local storage so your work can be restored after an interruption. The draft is removed when you save or discard it and expires after seven days. The current app does not include user accounts or advertising trackers.
Face guidance
The face-detection model used for positioning and automated guidance is bundled with the app and runs on your device. Automated guidance is an estimate and does not guarantee that a government authority will accept a photo.
Your choices
You can avoid photo transmission by not using optional background removal. You can remove an unfinished draft by returning to photo selection and choosing to discard it. Clearing the app's data or uninstalling it removes all locally stored app information.
